A country wedding in the heart of county Cheshire
Tucked away in Congleton, in the village of Eaton, on a little side street with charming gardens and overlooking the Peak District National Park, there stands a 400 year old Inn.
This partly timbered, partly Cheshire brick Inn is accompanied by an oak barn dating all the way back to the 13th Century.
The Plough Inn offers a picture-perfect setting for brides and grooms and was the perfect spot for Laura and Connaire to host their wedding ceremony and reception.
“The minute we walked into The Plough we knew it was the one, everything about it was beautiful,” they said.
The night before the wedding Laura and her bridal party arrived at the inn, which meant they had a bit of time to relax in the morning before getting their hair and makeup done.
The bride-to-be had a gorgeous smile from start to finish and wore an elegant dress by Wed2Be with a stunning pearl necklace to match.
Connaire arrived in a classic red Ferrari, wearing a dashing blue suit by Moss Bros, ready to sweep Laura off of her feet.
While entering the cosy barn where he would soon be wed, the groom stood for a moment and admired the history and beauty of the room.
Elegant white dressed chairs with blush pink bows were placed in the room to create an aisle down the centre, while white draped curtains hung on either side of the barn.
Everything from the floorboards, to the high beams that supported and encompassed the barn, to the balcony, were made out of oak.
One unmissable feature was the lighting ornaments located on the beams next to the aisle.
These features alongside the fairy lights that decorated the laying wooden beams, and the oak that surrounded the barn, created an idyllic and romantic fairy-tale setting.
Connaire stood at the end of the aisle and longed to see his finance. He could not contain his joy or emotion when Laura appeared, escorted by her father.
The couple shared their written vows to each other, which were followed by the kiss that sealed the deal and had everyone in the room filled with smiles and applause.
Together they walked back down the aisle as Husband and Wife, with a standing ovation from friends and family.
Once outside they were greeted by confetti flying freely through the air and cheers all around.
The newlyweds took a moment to pose for Ben Walker in and around the garden surrounding the inn.
Ben met the couple in Bangor, Gwynedd eight years ago, he said: “It was lovely they hired me to shoot their wedding.”
On the entrance steps of the inn the couple shared a loving kiss, before being joined by friends and family for group photographs.
The couple were extremely grateful for Ben’s kind and approachable manner: ‘Ben was amazing throughout, nothing was ever too much trouble.
“On the day he was so professional, he knew exactly what shots to take. It was all just so relaxed and natural from start to finish,” they said.
As Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey first walked back into the barn, where they only briefly before said their ‘I dos’, they were full of amazement and joy to see how the ceremony room had been completely transformed for their wedding reception.
Three long tables had been placed in the room and on each table stood a beautiful lantern centrepiece by Flossie’s Weddings, which housed a candle with blush flowers at the base.
At the far end of the room stood the bride and grooms table, who were seated alongside their closest family and friends.
The evening came to a close and the bride and groom as well as most of the wedding party spent the night tucked away in cosy, warm rooms at the inn.
All in all this was the perfect venue for the couple as well as their family and friends to experience a rustic, intimate and unique country wedding.
The couple concluded that they couldn’t have wished for a more wonderful wedding day.
